Brazilian Food and Food Production:
Feojoda is one of the most popular dishes in Brazil, here is a typical recipe:

Brazil food is delicious and amazingly diverse. These are some popular Brazil foods in different regions of the country that will make you want to visit and enjoy them! Choices of Brazil popular foods are eaten throughout the country of Brazil and include pine nuts, yams, acai, cassava, hog plum, okra, peanuts, cheese bread, tapioca, and chourico, which is essentially a spicy sausage. Brazil's staple food items consist of feijao, or black beans, farinha, which is similar to what we know in the U.S. as flour, and arroz, or white rice. These three ingredients are typically cooked or served with protein such as fish, red meat, or poultry. The national dish of Brazil is called feijoada. It's a hearty meat stew made from pork and black beans. Traditional side dishes served with feijoada are kale, ground manioc, orange salad, and arroz.
When it comes to religion and the impact it has on food. Roman Catholicism is the strongest religion, therefore lots the culture, habits, customs and holidays have a Catholic background. They use to eat some foods at some holidays, like the Americans eats turkey for Thanksgiving. In Brazil they eat turkey and pork at Christmas. As for the Easter, the same traditional Easter eggs, but there's a Catholic custom in which they avoid eating meat at Passion Friday, except for fish. Some people avoid to eat/drink something they like during the whole Lent (meat, chocolate, soda, alcohol), but that's for more devout people.
Most all of Brazil’s food and cuisine is produced on harvested on the home countries land. This is because Brazil is one of the most bio diverse countries in the world and that gives them a lot of freedom and possibilities when it come to crops and food that they can grow, harvest, and farm.

Paragraph analyzing photo: This photo has to do with life expectancy and i chose to do this because we talked about birth rates and death rates earlier in the assignment. You can see in 1950 that the life expectancy in Brazil and in a lot of places around the world started to rapidly increase and that is because of education and better medicine.
I chose this educational map in order to tie into our last assignment which was regarding the gender roles in our respective country. I researched and learned the women in Brail are steadily increasing in salaried jobs and doing more job outside of the house which is shown in this photo.

Paragraph analyzing photo: I chose the educational photo to illustrate two different things. The first is just that it is obvious that these success rates are increasing all over world which is good. The second is that the country of Africa only has two countries that qualify and the the country of South America only has one and that is Colombia. Brazil does not qualify.
This image shows deaths by murder and i chose this just to illustrate that Brazil while being one of the most beautiful places on earth, and yes it is becoming very good for tourist and very well industrialized. It is still a very dangerous place, as you can see on the map it has the second biggest bubble besides Russia.

Map showing the cultural element of Religion:
This map shows the most popular regions around the world. In my opinion i think that religion is one f the biggest and most important aspects of culture so I chose this image to illustrate how Brazil relates to the rest of the world. You can see by the map that the majority of Brazil and South America as a whole fall within two religions: Roman Catholicism and Protestantism.
Five Paragraphs About the Major Religions in Brazil:
There were many indigenous tribes on the coast of Brazil that practiced their own styles and types of religions. The reason that we do not know much about these religions of natives and indigenous tribes is because the Portuguese settles on the coast of Brazil in the 1600’s and they were there to strictly enforce Catholicism. The transition was violent and that is why we do not see any traces of those indigenous religions. So from that point on it began to form a Catholicism type of religion. One other aspect I should point out is that Brazil was also native to Africans who came over to serve as slaves. They brought African rituals and parts of their religion as well so that also contributed to the beginning of religion in Brazil.
Catholicism was introduced to Brazil when the European settlers arrived with the aim of ‘civilizing’ the local native people. They built churches and brought religious leaders into the country to teach young and old alike the doctrines of Catholicism. During the 19th century, Catholicism was made the official religion of Brazil. One of the most famous and recognizable aspect of Brazil is the Crist of the redeemer statue that is in Rio De Jenerio. This symbolizes the most common religion of Catholic. The breakdown of religion goes as follows; 64 percent catholic, 22 percent protestant, eight percent are no religion, three percent are other religion, and two percent are spiritualists
Like, I mentioned in the previous paragraph the Christ of the Redeemer statue is one of the most sacred and famous places in Brazil. It was completed in 1931 and stands 120 feet tall. It is the second tallest statue of Christ in the world and it was named one the new Seven Wonders of the World in 2007. Another sacred place in the country of Brazil that I have yet to mention is the Santuario Dom Bosco. This honors a famous Italian Saint who dreamed of utopian city in 1833. It is located in Brasilia, which is the capital, and the city of Brasilia is modeled after this dream. This shrine is especially notable for its impressive interior, bathed in heavenly blue light from walls of windows.
A common issue that many countries face is how to separate region and politics, both are major in the civilization of a country and the countries economic success. The tricky part is try to keep them both civil without them interfering with each other. Brazil is a secular country, so the government tends to keep a very neutral position when it comes to religion. At the same time, evangelical churches continue to grow and so does the number of religious leaders that has legislative power in the country. It is for this reason that conservative approaches are becoming more and more popular in politics. This hinders the adoption of new laws that could be made that are disapproved by religious morals.
My concluding thoughts on religion today in my countries come down to this. Religion is a major part of any countries history and culture. Although the topic of religion has always been one of the more difficult for me to really understand and grasp, this assignment has taught me a lot about the religious history of Brazil and I found this assignment very knowledgeable. I will say that for my specific country of Brazil, it is sad that we do not have much of a record of the religious practices and rituals that were native to the indigenous people that lived on the land before the Portuguese arrived and pretty much forced everyone on the land to adopt Catholic. Who knows what they were practicing and if we had some knowledge of their religious history it could shed some light on the questions we have of the indigenous people that were native to land before the Portuguese. Like I said, this assignment was very helpful in learning the role that religion plays on culture and day to day lives of the people in Brazil.

Biodiversity and Cultural Diversity
For this assignment we will be looking at the different aspects of biodiversity and cultural diversity for my specific country of Brazil and more specifically how they affect each other and the people of Brazil. I will spend the next two paragraphs going over biodiversity aspects of the country and cultural aspects respectively. I will then spend the final paragraph contrasting these two concepts and be analyzing how they interact with each other on the beautiful country of Brazil.
Brazil is considered to be the most biologically diverse country on this planet, yes I said the correctly. Brazil is the most bio diverse planet on this planet and part of that is because of its sheer size (fourth largest country in terms of land) and another part of it, is just that its in a biology hot zone. Brazil is home to six terrestrial biomes, three large marine ecosystems, 103,870 animal species and 43,020 plant species. These are crazy high numbers when you compare them with any other country around the world and now you can start to imagine just how diverse this country is. It is also said that Brazil is home to about 15-20 percent of the world’s entire biological diversity, which is crazy when you think about the size of the country in comparison to the entire planet (around 3-5 percent.) The last statistic I will say is that Brazil is finding on average 700 new animal species a year, which just shows that the country is becoming even more diverse over time. So, enough with all the numbers and statistics, what does all this really mean? This means resources, and lots of food! Being biologically diverse has its perks and Brazilian people know how to use the land and salvage the resources, which I will talk about next.
Just like in the concept of biology Brazil is also one the most cultural diverse countries on this planet as well. This is due to it being a melting pot of nationalities, as a result of centuries of European domination as well as slavery, which brought hordes of African migrants across Brazil’s borders to live in and influence the local cultures with their ancient customs and ideas. 80 percent of the country follows the religion of Roman Catholic and the race distribution is as follows; at present, Brazil has a population of about 190 million people. Of these, more than half are white (which includes Portuguese, Italian, Polish etc... individuals), just fewer than 40% are mixed black and white and less than 10% are black
So how do these two mesh and create the life that people live today in Brazil. Like I said earlier Brazil has tons of natural resources and they have had local people on the land for close to three centuries now. With all these resources and experience comes a lot of knowledge on how to use the countries resources. The people of Brazil are excellent with their natural resources which include; Iron Ore Manganese, Bauxite, Nickel, Granite, Limestone, Clay, Sand, Tin, Gold, Platinum, Uranium, Gems, Petroleum, Phosphates, Timber, Hydroelectric Power.
